The Sixth Gift of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
His Compassion
From the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
flows the gift of compassion,
a love that sees, a mercy that heals,
a tenderness that never turns away.
Moved with pity, He touched the leper (Mark 1:41),
gave sight to the blind, strength to the lame (Matthew 20:34).
He wept with those who mourned (John 11:35),
and fed the hungry with hands of grace (Matthew 15:32).
His heart knew the burdens of the weary,
and He called them to Himself (Matthew 11:28).
He bore our sorrows, carried our wounds,
willing to suffer that we might live (Isaiah 53:4-5).
His mercy flows beyond measure,
like a river that never runs dry.
Not for the worthy, but for the broken,
for sinners longing to be made whole (Luke 5:31-32).
In His gaze, we find no condemnation,
only the promise of healing and peace.
“Go and sin no more,” He whispers (John 8:11),
lifting the fallen, embracing the lost.
May we welcome His compassion,
let it soften our hearts of stone.
And as we receive, may we also give,
becoming His mercy for the world.
